TransAlta is recognized for its active participation in designing renewable energy projects across Canada. For the New Richmond project, the company had to commit to extremely ambitious construction and interconnection schedules to meet Hydro-Québec requirements. What was a stake? Powering Québec homes with wind-generated electricity.

   1. ## Our experts' solutions
    
    The team came together quickly and developed an innovative delivery strategy enabling the paralleling of design and procurement activities while optimizing prefabrication and minimizing rework. Results spoke for themselves, a project energized as planned that now displays one of the highest facility availability rate in the industry.
    
    The mandate was executed respecting a schedule compressed by five months for the electrical and civil design along major procurement activities.
    
    
    - Interconnection and electrical studies
    - Detailed engineering – civil, electrical and automation
    - Compliance with the IEC 61850 standard
    - Design and implementation of the SCADA system
    - Construction supervision of civil and electrical work
    - Testing and energization of all systems
