1. Canada has committed to sourcing nearly all its energy from renewable and non-emitting sources by 2030. While this is an ambitious goal, recent progress and growing momentum in the renewable energy sector suggest a promising path forward.

    > The share of renewables in our energy mix will keep rising,” says Brenden Marchewka – Department Manager, Wind, Solar and Storage at BBA. “There’s strong demand because people want cleaner power generation, greater energy security and stable long-term pricing. Renewables deliver on all three fronts.

    > The growing need for energy as industries electrify, is paving the way for more renewable energy integration” adds Scott Fleming, BBA's Director of Wind and Solar. “Wind power, for example, is now the most cost-effective new energy to meet growing energy needs.

Several key factors can help accelerate the rollout of renewable energy projects:

    - **Ensuring stable regulations and clear policies** to give investors a predictable framework
    - **Building on rapid advances in energy storage** with increasingly efficient, longer-duration solutions
    - **Modernizing power grids with smart technologies** and optimizing power flow management
    - **Interconnecting networks** to help balance supply and demand on a large scale
    - **Fostering public support for projects** by involving local communities

    As Brenden Marchewka reminds us,

    > Every region has its own characteristics. The key isn’t to pit one source against another, but to make them work together to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

It all comes down to complementarity. By smartly combining different energy sources and staying committed to innovation and continuous improvement, we can move toward a faster, more practical and sustainable energy transition.
