BBA is proud to announce its expansion into Manitoba, strengthening our presence across the Canadian Prairies and reaffirming our long-standing commitment to being close to our clients, their operations and their ambitions, thus delivering better solutions.
The Winnipeg office will be led by Dan Kell, M.Sc., P.Eng., who joins BBA as Office Director. A seasoned leader and professional engineer with more than 24 years of experience, Dan has contributed to over 50 GW of HVDC and grid modernization projects worldwide. He’s recognized across the industry for his expertise in power systems, renewable integration and electrical studies, and currently chairs the NERC Project 2022-04 on EMT modelling, helping define future North American planning standards.
“Our growth strategy is about proximity—to our clients, to their sites and to talented engineers who want to make an impact,” says Brad Hansen, Vice-President, Operations – Canadian Prairies. “Establishing a local presence in Manitoba not only deepens our regional partnerships and presence, it enables BBA to develop a strategic hub of expertise in power systems, HVDC and power system studies, enhancing our capacity to deliver advanced engineering solutions globally and reinforcing our leadership across the region.”
This new chapter represents another exciting step in BBA’s journey to expand its reach and deepen its impact across Canada. We’re thrilled to welcome the expertise, energy and vision that Dan Kell brings to our leadership team and look forward to building a talented, purpose-driven group in Manitoba to shape the future of energy and natural resources across the Canadian Prairies.
