11 dic 2019Energía Eléctrica y RenovablesAre you a Transmission Owner (TO), a Generator Owner (GO) or a Distribution Provider (DP) that owns or operates elements of the Bulk Electric System(1) in Ontario? Are you candidate for complying with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standard? Then you will be required to comply with PRC-005-6 Protection System, Automatic Reclosing and Sudden Pressure Relaying Maintenance (3), which governs the maintenance of protection systems. If so, you did or eventually will be subject to the IESO self-certifications or the audits since this Standard was enforced by the IESO Market Authority Compliance Division (MACD) since 2016. As of October 2019, 30% of your facilities (by market participant) were expected to be compliant with PRC-005-6; you must now prepare for the next milestone on April 1, 2020 (refer to the PRC-005-6 implementation plan for more details on enforcement dates and requirements). Are you PRC-005-6 compliant ready? -

14 oct 2019Energía Eléctrica y RenovablesTransformer failures are unfortunately inevitable and may manifest themselves in a variety of ways. In the event of any such failure, it is important to understand the cause. Transformers are one of the most complex pieces of network equipment, due to their custom-made design and the numerous varieties of applications. In the event of a failure, one of the most demanding challenges is understanding the design, manufacture, verification test and system interaction associated with the transformer. As a result, when an incident occurs, the real cause is invariably never a straightforward answer.Transformer failure investigation process -

02 jul 2019Minería y metalurgiaOre loading pockets are used at strip mining operation sites. They generally comprise a dumping station, the top of which is equipped with a protective bumper, a dumping tunnel dug into the rock itself, and an apron pan feeder installed at the bottom of the tunnel. Trucks unload the crude ore into the pit, which feeds the material into an apron pan feeder at the bottom of the loading pocket. This controls the flow of ore and transfers it into train cars that transport the raw material to the crusher, by train or an equivalent means of transportation, which may collect the ore from multiple loading pockets.Structural expertise in ore loading pockets -
