Hassiba Lkoun, Director of Engineering, and Marc Tardif, an expert in process control and operational technology, have been on site for several weeks now preparing to open this new branch in the United States. “We're already busy building strong relationships with local partners and stakeholders, as well as carrying out automation and electrical engineering mandates at Rio Tinto's Kennecott mine, located some 30 minutes from Salt Lake City,” confirms Ms. LKoun. Kennecott is the world's top-producing open-pit copper mine and carries out mining, smelting and refining operations. In addition to copper, the mine extracts and processes 14 other minerals, including gold, silver and tellurium.
