As the world's first multi-technology carbon capture centre, Deep Sky Alpha brings together several direct air capture (DAC) technologies at a single site to assess their performance under real-world conditions. The project is designed to accelerate the identification and deployment of the most promising solutions, making CO₂ removal more efficient, accessible and scalable.
Delivered in just 12 months, Deep Sky Alpha transformed Deep Sky's ambitious vision into an operational platform that accelerates the development of carbon removal technologies. As the project's lead engineering partner, BBA provided detailed engineering, procurement and construction management services for this one-of-a-kind facility.
“Thanks to BBA’s engineering and planning rigour, efficient execution and close collaboration with our team, the project was delivered in just 12 months without compromising quality.” — Alex Petre, CEO, Deep Sky
By accelerating the emergence, validation and deployment of carbon capture technologies, Deep Sky Alpha is helping advance large-scale carbon removal. This recognition highlights the importance of advancing today the most promising solutions to make CO₂ removal more efficient, accessible and scalable.
“Deep Sky Alpha demonstrates what is possible to achieve when innovation, multidisciplinary expertise and close collaboration come together around a shared vision. We are proud to have contributed to the realization of this unique infrastructure.” — Stéphane Charest, Vice-president, Energy and Chemicals Market
