25 ene 2024Energía y químicosAre you considering producing iron ore for the direct-reduced iron market? Here are four process challenges you may encounter. Today, direct-reduced iron (DRI) only makes up about four percent of global iron ore production. Demand for this product is growing rapidly as the steel industry transitions toward greener processes to meet climate change mitigation targets. DRI is a highly purified concentrate, which typically requires a high-quality resource and the use of flotation processes to achieve the low-impurity content required.Producing iron ore for the direct-reduced iron market-

06 nov 2023Otras IndustriasA while ago, I realized that our Vancouver 3D scanning team was seeking a solution to convert point cloud data into 3D meshed surfaces. This conversion process has many benefits and is part of an industry wide growth. Some of these benefits include providing designers with a better understanding of scanned elements, enhancing visualization, enabling surface reconstruction, reducing data size, facilitating editing and processing, improving interoperability with other tools and applications and presenting final 2D and 3D drawings in a more optimal format.Pivo-Mesh and March-Mesh-

12 jul 2023Energía Eléctrica y RenovablesBased on current worldwide policies, climate projections are estimated to result in about 2.7°C above pre-industrial levels.1 Increased GHG emissions from human activity, including heavy industry, is one of the leading contributors to the temperature rate increase. As unprecedented heat waves, fires and floods are being witnessed around the world, global social awareness of climate change is rising quickly. This is putting tremendous focus on environmental initiatives and driving action toward sustainable investments in greener energy.Purposeful planning for mining decarbonization-

23 mar 2023Energía Eléctrica y RenovablesWorkers who are exposed to high noise levels for long periods of time will suffer irreversible hearing damage (tinnitus, deafness). Although noise exposure limits exist, Québec’s Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) estimates that hearing disorders related to working conditions are constantly increasing, which represents 86% of occupational diseases in 2021,1 compared to 70% in 2019. It’s crucial for all employers to inform their employees of the harmful, long-term effects of noise, to focus on prevention and to implement the necessary mechanisms to comply with the noise standards set out in the Regulation respecting occupational health and safety. But what target values must we apply? When and how must we assess the noise levels workers are exposed to? And is there a tracking record of previous assessments?Noise exposure in the workplace: changes coming soon in Québec -
