BBA is pleased to welcome François Vitez as Director – Renewable Energy. Mr. Vitez is a hydropower and energy storage expert with 25 years of experience and has been involved in major hydropower and energy storage projects in Canada, the United States and internationally.
Mr. Vitez has a strong entrepreneurial spirit, great communication skills and is passionate about renewable energy. As a team player, he knows how to develop strong relationships with his colleagues, partners and clients. He also has extensive project management skills. Having developed and managed a hydroelectric power plant, François Vitez is well acquainted with the challenges related to the ever-changing energy market, such as network digitalization and decarbonization.
Mr. Vitez is very involved in the industry, more specifically as Chair of the Value of Hydropower Committee at Waterpower Canada and the Federal Initiatives Committee at the Energy Storage Association of Canada. Until recently, he was also a Board member of the California Energy Storage Association and a member of the International Hydropower Association. As an expert, he has published several papers and presented at numerous conferences.
